As one of Africa’s biggest stars, Alpha Blondie, born Seydou Kone in Cote d’Ivoire, has recorded nearly 200 songs since his solo debut in 1980. In Jerusalem, Blondie’s third solo album, he united with the Wailers—five years after Bob Marley’s death. The combination of the Wailer’s driving rhythm and Blondie’s voice and lyrics constitute an album that has lasting appeal around the world.
