Nairobi artisans hand paint spiral symbols against fields of earthy coral, melon and sand. Each bowl is hand carved from soapstone, a dense yet soft metamorphic rock found in the Tabaka Hills of western Kenya. Since the dyes used will change color upon contact with liquids, we recommend using this bowl for decorative purposes only.
