With the help of South African farmers and craft enthusiasts Siggi and Egmund Dedekind, more than 200 Zulu men and women living in rural KwaZulu-Natal, South Africa, have mastered the art of weaving plastic coated telecommunications wire using traditional basketry techniques.

With unemployment in KwaZulu at nearly 80%, the ability to craft baskets from home keeps families together and stabilizes communities. Considering that these incredible Zulu weavers only recently learned this particular craft, we're stunned by the quality and complexity of their work.
